Popular TV Shows posters by Adam Spizak
inspiratu.com
Check out these realistic posters by Adam Spizak depicting characters from popular TV shows like Mad Man, Dexter, Californication (yeah it's meaning in two words), Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. Seems we have pretty similar taste in TV :) As per Adam: "The project started few months ago as fan art and slowly grow bigger and bigger to finally end up as series. First round of five of my fav TV shows and also - first round of prints! I've tried to approach the project as both fan and also what i would think was important from the show's perspective - the essence. The Essence for me was closely related to music in these shows, a connection become the core of each idea". See below creative process Adam used to create Californication poster. Attention to detail is just amazing. You can purchase Breaking Bad wallpapers here All artwork is by Adam Spizak Characters depicted, TV show names and logos are property of their respective Networks. [...]

Ford reflects on radical Mustang concept that never reached showrooms
www.autoblog.com
The original Ford Mustang concept used a mid engine and had a wedge-shaped body. The Ford Mustang that we all know and love made major waves in the auto industry way back in 1964 by offering style and reasonable pricing with optional V8 power. Its long hood and short rear deck, combined with a low-slung and sporty cockpit, made a lasting impression in the minds of consumers and car designers alike, and its basic shape has so endured the test of time that it's still in use today. This being the case, you may be interested to know that the first Mustang of 1964.5 wasn't actually the first Mustang at all, being preceded by a concept car that made its public debut in 1962. This concept was nothing like the car that would eventually make it into production, with a radical wedge shape and a small V4 engine sitting behind the car's two occupants, driving the rear wheels. In other words, the conceptual Mustang was pretty much the complete opposite of the production Mustang besides the name [...]

Industrial Facility: Locale living office for Herman Miller
www.designboom.com
Industrial facility's 'Locale' living office furniture system for Herman Miller creates a dynamic high-performance work space. At NEOCON 2013--the international event for the contract furniture industry--a common theme which resurfaced was the ability for office products to seamlessly shift from functioning as individual work spaces to open-plan environments. industrial facility's (Sam Hecht and Kim Colin) 'Locale Office' for Herman Miller is evidence of this, a system formed by a number of elements which encourages unexpected interactions, allowing employees to freely transition between private and collaborative activities. Chain Link Fencing As Art by Soo Sunny Park
design-milk.com
A glistening sculptural installation made up of metal chain link fencing and iridescent Plexiglas that bounces rainbows of color when light hits it. American artist Soo Sunny Park took over Rice Gallery, part of Rice University in Houston, Texas, with a glistening, labor intensive, abstract installation called Unwoven Light. The suspended piece is made up of 37 individual units composed of chain link fencing that is arranged into a sculptural form that’s all about light. As you make your way around the space, the ever-changing rainbows of color bounce off each piece of iridescent Plexiglas that has been wired into the openings of the metal fence. The coated Plexiglas causes the light to “unweave” making each shape turn from clear to colorful as light hits them. [...]

Feel Like a Spider in This New Steel Wire Web
www.mymodernmet.com
His largest and most ambitious work to date, In Orbit by Argentinian artist Tomas Saraceno is the closest one may ever come to feeling like a spider. Working with a team of architects, engineers and biologists over a three year period, Saraceno is finally ready to debut this monumental mesh construction that suspends over 25 meters above the piazza of the K21 Standehaus museum in Dusseldorf, Germany. On June 22, visitors will be able to climb on the gigantic steel wire construction that spans three levels. The mesh net alone weighs three tons and there are half a dozen "spheres" or inflated PVC balloons positioned within it. No joke, for this installation, the artist studied the methods of various spiders to see how they constructed their intricate webs. Just like them, visitors coordinate their activities with one another, perceiving space through the medium of vibration. Of course, there are few rules to entering "the orbit." Visitors will receive instructions on how to scale i [...]

Bronze Figures Use Negative Space to Convey Spiritual Energy
www.mymodernmet.com
Artist Sukhi Barber was born in England and, from a very young age, she was always interested in pursuing her artistic passions. After attending art school and completing her formal training in sculpture, she traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal, and spent twelve years studying what she describes as the "timeless quality of peace and balance that she found in the art of Asia." Barber's human figures are a fascinating blend of her training in both sculpture and philosophy. Through her creative practice, she intends to bridge the cultures of East and West in which the peaceful essence of Buddhist tradition sits calmly in unison with the patterns and designs of a traditional bronze casting artform. In her sculptures, Barber produces a rich visual beauty with a compelling draw to Buddhist traditions. She says that the pieces are meant to explore "themes of hidden potentials, and the transcendence of our limiting view of a solid reality." As viewers, we are instantly drawn in to the captivati [...]
