Graphic designer from UK Chris LaBrooy takes term "stretched" when applied to the cars to the new level.  In his computer manipulated images classic cars are stretched, pulled, engaged in contortions, nesting and of course - Auto-Aerobics.  Somewhat surreal to see classic cars of the 60's "re-designed" in to futuristic bots. Created by Canadian artist Ellen Jewett "Creatures From El" is collection of fascinating yet peculiar creatures - morphed flora and fauna into surrealistic mutant species frozen in movement. Almost like captured at the moment we woke up from a dream of captivating and mysterious imagery. It seems like body parts as characters in it's own right mutated into mechanical and bestial interlocking breeds. But, then again... maybe it's how these beasts see themselves? Turtle feels boged down by the weight, like it's a tree growing on it's shell, fast mountain lion feels like birds flying out of his body carrying him through the fastest of runs and desert fox feels elegance of swan wings - as vanity is it's blessing and it's curse... Countless poets compared human bodies to landscapes, valleys, hills and rivers. Photographer Carl Warner expressed the same sentiment in what he does the best - creating photo-landscapes that aren't. In series "Otherscapes" he manipulated beautiful body close-ups in to multiple collages to achieve imaginary deserts, hills and boulders - recognizable to be human bodies at the closer look only. We've seen several photo series from photographers using various office supplies (scotch tape, rubber band, paint) or household items (leaf bower, window glass) to distort ones face for that bizarre look we cannot help to click on. Nevertheless, one thing is for sure - the results are always entertaining. Wes Naman (was featured here) previous "Scotch Tape" series created so much buzz that he decided to follow in the same direction by using rubber bands. This time faces were borrowed from local Albuquerque music bands (see play of words "rubber bands" - "music bands"). I love contrasts (hence the reference to the name of legendary Guns'N'Roses). Love, when artist takes extremes of any dimension and collides opposites in most unusual and surprising ways. More surprising - the better... Magnus Gjoen took the objects that we usually associate with destruction and harm, and illustrated them with soft feel good imagery of fine art, porcelain patterns and classic paintings. Suddenly the tools of destruction transformed into harmless, decorative nick'nacks we can find in our grandma's fine china cabinet.  (I can completely imagine some sweet old lady personalizing her AK-47 with flowery decoupage). Russian photographer Alexander Khokhlov in collaboration with makeup artist Valeryia Kutsan created series of portraits called "Weird Beauty".  Deviating from traditional photo-shoot make-up, Valeryia painted model faces in widely recognizable symbols and trademarks.
